Job Description

Reporting to the Data Engineering Manager, the Data Architect is an integral part of the team maintaining and operating the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions. The Data Architect is passionate about data and works hand-in-hand with the business to surface a vision of data services and governance. This includes ETL activities using Microsoft SSIS/SQL, reporting (SSRS), and analytics (SSAS) while also supporting efforts to move to a modern cloud data warehouse. Assisting and advising the Data Engineering Manager, the Data Architect aligns technical architecture and development standards as well as mentors team members to meet business needs and goals while delivering on the organization's data roadmap. This position is based at our Administrative Office (HQ) in Irving (Las Colinas), Texas.


  • Utilize advanced knowledge and experience to establish the architectural vision and roadmap for the data environment
  • Analyze all data warehouse architecture goals and identify skills needed for ongoing support
  • Troubleshoot BI and ETL Environment problems and tune for performance optimization
  • Analyze data and highlight trends to help effectively resolve issues or proactively implement remediation activities
  • Develop and maintain physical and logical data models
  • Establish coding standards and define procedures to support the data engineering lifecycle
  • Prepare designs for database systems and recommend improvements
  • Maintain and develop various database scripts and tools to facilitate the automation process
  • Provide leadership and support for all data warehouse initiatives
  • Define meta data standards for the data warehouse
  • Evaluate all proposals requests and assist to improve the structure of data environment
  • Lead and mentor other members of the data engineering organization
  • Provide excellent customer service with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and team collaboration skills


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • 7+ years’ experience working in a Microsoft data technology environment
  • 4+ years advanced level T-SQL for developing complex stored procedures, triggers, tables, functions, indexes, etc.
  • 3+ years of developing SSIS, relational data modeling, and dimensional data modeling
  • 3+ years of Kimball Data Warehouse design and build
  • 3+ years developing and administering dashboards in Power BI and/or Tableau and SSRS reports
  • 2+ years in SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
  • 2+ years Cloud-based Modern Data Warehousing Architecture & Analytics preferably Azure
  • Advanced knowledge of Lambda Architecture, Hot (Realtime), and Cold (Batch) Paths
  • Strong knowledge of Database Administration for Microsoft SQL Server in an Enterprise environment
  • Proficient in developing and executing ETL test plans including unit and regression testing
  • Local (Dallas/Fort Worth area) candidates only – no relocation
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and not require sponsorship in the future


  • Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Kafka, or Spark
  • Experience creating PowerShell script
  • Exposure to Databricks
  • Experience working with and creating a Master Data Hub
  • Data science experience using Python machine learning, R statistical modeling, or Data Mining techniques
  • Experience working in the Financial Services industry
