Job Description

Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director of Payments Technology and Compliance is responsible for executing the company’s payments strategy. This strategy includes implementing new payments technology as well as oversight of the processing, balancing, and exception handling of all payment transactions (e.g., ACH, debit, and RCC). This is a great opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, who would like to be a “game-changer” in the payment operations aspect of treasury management. This position is based at our Administrative Office (HQ) in Irving (Las Colinas), Texas.


  • Partner with IT, Compliance, Operations, Risk and Accounting to oversee the successful completion of daily payment transactions while ensuring compliance with NACHA Operating Rules, Visa/MasterCard rules and all state/federal regulations
  • Identify, justify and support new projects related to the overall improvement of the customer payment experience, serving as a key stakeholder for all aspects of the payments project life cycle (design, development, testing and implementation)
  • Create, maintain and prioritize KPIs in order to optimize operational performance
  • Drive improvements to policies, procedures, and processes; re-engineer (as needed) to maximize effectiveness and efficiency
  • Manage existing vendor relationships; evaluate, recommend and develop new vendors, strategies and processes
  • Handle department inquiries, investigations, special requests and resolve problems in a timely manner


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field
  • 7+ years of payments experience with a focus in consumer payments
  • Knowledge of: payment processors and vendors, along with their products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations; and other payment-related policies and procedures
  • Curiosity for emerging payments technology and what is on the horizon
  • Ability to deal with difficult technical problems involving multiple facets, variables and situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to improve and document procedures that are easily understood by others
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills are a must
  • Propensity to learn and invest time to further advance technological skillsets
  • Local (Dallas/Fort Worth area) candidates only – no relocation
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and not require sponsorship in the future


  • Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification
  • Payments risk management and controls experience
  • 2+ years in a management or team lead role
  • Thorough understanding of US domestic payment methods (e.g., ACH, debit card, credit card) and their regulatory requirements (NACHA Operating Rules and Visa/MasterCard rules)
  • Solid understanding of credit and debit card interchange business model for issuers and acquirers
