Job Description

Reporting to our Portfolio Manager, the Business Analyst works with the Information Technology (IT) team using a diverse set of Microsoft and third party technologies.  The Business Analyst is responsible for defining and managing content in an Agile project lifecycle by reviewing business requirements, refining a Lightweight Business Case (LBC) into features and user stories and supporting development activities through production delivery. This individual possesses an outgoing personality that adapts well to a variety of types of individuals at different levels within the organization, and acts as a liaison to understand project concepts and objectives, and captures and creates business requirements. This individual possesses a highly analytical mind and pays attention to details while executing. This position is based at our Administrative Office (HQ) in Irving (Las Colinas), Texas.

  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats

  • Take ownership of content being delivered by Agile teams, define iterations and stories, prioritize backlog and establish acceptance criteria and accept stories

  • Define requirements, refine functional epics or features into user stories, and communicate the same to development teams

  • Engage customers or stakeholders in a conversation style during requirement gathering in order to elicit customer’s needs, uncover details, risks, etc. and help formulate options to drive decisioning toward best solution

  • Improve systems by studying current practices and designing modifications

  • Recommend controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures

  • Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures

  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

  • Perform testing to insure product meets the specifications and quality

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business and technical team

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 3+ years of demonstrated business analysis & consulting methodology experience

  • Strong project management, analytical, problem solving capabilities and a team player

  • SDLC in Agile development - considered a coach during various phases of project life cycle and project documentation

  • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS), Rally or Jira

  • Prior experience with some form of database querying (write or understand simple to moderately complex queries)

  • Experience with projects on Web development (UI/UX, mobile), Salesforce, APIs, middleware and backend is a plus

  • Ability to thoroughly understand product rules, configurations, types, events, and scenarios

  • Strong organizational/ communication skills 

  • Local (Dallas/Fort Worth area) candidates only – no relocation

  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and not require sponsorship in the future


  • Ability to write Transact-SQL (T-SQL) queries to fulfill data mapping needs

  • Experience with projects that were based on Scaled Agile Framework (Safe)

  • One or more certifications preferred including SAFe PM/PO, SAFe SA, CSPO or PSPO, CBAP, PMI-PBA
