Job Description

Reporting to our Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Business Intelligence Manager is an integral part of the IT leadership team and assists in the ongoing development and implementation of our enterprise IT strategy.  Managing a staff of BI Developers and Architects, this hands-on development manager is responsible for data integrity, security, optimization, architecture and business intelligence of data warehouse and reporting solutions.  This position is based at our Corporate Office (HQ) in Irving (Las Colinas), Texas.




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
Leadership


  • Management and leadership of various levels of resources including permanent and contract positions

  • Forecasting, budgeting, staffing, capacity planning, SDLC and quality assurance, following an agile development methodology

  • Data Integrity and Security

  • Administer and maintain our production and test databases, and other internal and external company databases

  • Create, maintain and troubleshoot ETL and other system interfaces

  • Manage and maintain the integrity and reliability of our data and databases

  • Manage disaster recovery, data replication and other distributed data issues



Optimization
Develop scripts to optimally perform stored procedures, functions, views and notifications
Assisting with database performance tuning, capacity and troubleshooting issues.  
Collaborate with software providers, and external developers, to configure and manage databases for optimal performance

Data Modeling and Architecture 


  • Develop and maintain enterprise data warehouse and data mart metadata structures to support corporate reporting initiatives

  • Develop ETL processes to move data from OLTP systems to reporting data structures

  • Collaborate with the Systems Development Manager on joint data modeling projects within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework

  • Develop and maintain end-user interfaces to reporting data structures



Reporting


  • Manage, create and maintain standard operational performance and other reports and dashboards

  • Solve complex reporting issues related to data, structures, tables, timing, and other factors

  • Provide information, including standard reporting packages, queries, and ad-hoc reporting to various end-users in the appropriate form and frequency



Data Collection and Big Data


  • Experience designing and implementing fast and efficient data acquisition using Big Data processing techniques and tools

  • Creating a Big Data framework and deploying tools to capture, transform, analyze and store structured and unstructured data

  • Create Proof of Concepts from scratch illustrating how data integration techniques can meet specific business requirements reducing cost and time to market

  • Work with other departments to applying machine learning algorithms in order to identify the most significant features across different datasets



COMPENSATION
Annual salary of up to $140,000

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in a production business intelligence support environment

  • 2+ years Management experience for team size of 5+

  • Experience creating and maintaining an enterprise data warehouse

  • Windows, SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, T-SQL script writing and report writing experience required

  • Agile/SAFe development methodology experience

  • Local (Dallas/Fort Worth area) candidates only – no relocation

  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and not require sponsorship in the future



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Ability to collect and analyze data and report results

  • Experience in a financial environment preferred

  • Understand basic accounting report requirements

  • Experience with BIML and MIST a plus
